Sharad Pawar Invited as Chief Guest at PM Modi’s Award Ceremony

Organizers have announced that Sharad Pawar has been extended an invitation to the upcoming ceremony where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be honored with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award in Pune on August 1. The event will see Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, attending as the chief guest, while his nephew and current Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will be among the attendees, according to the organizers’ statement on Monday (July 10).

The prestigious award is being conferred upon Prime Minister Modi in recognition of his exceptional leadership and his remarkable ability to instill a strong sense of patriotism among citizens. The organizers expressed their admiration for the Prime Minister’s efforts in guiding India towards progress and the concept of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Apart from Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, other prominent leaders invited to the ceremony include Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Ajit Pawar’s recent decision to join the Shinde-Fadnavis government on July 2 sent shockwaves through Maharashtra politics. Along with eight other NCP MLAs, he was sworn in as a minister in the state government, significantly altering the political landscape.

President of the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust (Hind Swaraj Sangh), Deepak Tilak, shared that the Lokmanya Tilak National Award will be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1, coinciding with the 103rd death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak.

The release issued by the Trust praised the prime minister for his leadership, highlighting India’s progress and his efforts in making the nation self-reliant. In recognition of his perseverance and achievements, the trustees of the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust unanimously selected him for this esteemed award. The release further emphasized that PM Modi’s initiatives had instilled a sense of patriotism among citizens and elevated India’s standing on the global stage.

In response to Ajit Pawar assuming the position of deputy chief minister, Sharad Pawar drew attention to Prime Minister Modi’s recent remarks about alleged corruption involving NCP leaders, urging him to take action against those found guilty. Pawar expressed satisfaction that the prime minister had included NCP colleagues in his cabinet, implying that the corruption allegations were baseless. He thanked PM Modi for the decision.

During an interaction with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) booth workers in Bhopal on June 27, Modi had mentioned allegations of scams worth nearly Rs 70,000 crore against the NCP, including the Maharashtra Cooperative Bank scam, irrigation scam, and illegal mining scam.
