Prime Minister’s US Visit: Modi to Address Joint Session of US Congress, Interact with CEOs and Indian Diaspora, and Pay State Visit to Egypt”

During his upcoming visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet with US President Joe Biden on June 22. Notably, PM Modi will also address the joint sitting of the US Congress on the same day, in addition to engaging in various curated interactions with leading CEOs, professionals, and other stakeholders in Washington, as informed by the Ministry of External Affairs. This official State visit to the US comes as a result of an invitation extended by US President Joseph Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Prior to his engagements in Washington, PM Modi will commence his visit in New York, where he will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21. This year, on the 9th International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a yoga session at the UN Headquarters, highlighting the numerous benefits of practicing yoga. The United Nations designated June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in December 2014, recognizing its universal appeal.

On June 23, Prime Minister Modi will address a gathering of diaspora leaders from across the country at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington. Engaging with the Indian diaspora has been a significant aspect of PM Modi’s overseas visits, fostering connections and strengthening ties.

The visit will also feature vibrant cultural programs, with over 160 artists rehearsing for the past week to showcase 25 cultural performances representing 15 Indian states. These captivating programs, encompassing dances, songs, and musicals, will beautifully reflect the rich cultural diversity of India.

Following his engagements in the United States, the Prime Minister will embark on a state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from June 24-25. During his visit, PM Modi will hold talks with President Sisi and interact with senior dignitaries from the Egyptian Government, prominent Egyptian personalities, and the Indian community in Egypt. The historical relations between India and Egypt are deeply rooted in trade, economic linkages, cultural exchanges, and strong people-to-people ties.
